KOMPAS TABLE

for Nurt

the impression
of a tabletop floating in the space.

table family

A family of tables built on a metal and wooden frame with tabletops of various shapes, sizes and finishes.

The base invokes the shape of a traditional trestle table. The main support for the table top is provided by a solid oak beam. It also connects the legs, oval in cross-section.

Tabletops are oak plywood which we manufacture inhouse to ensure exceptional durability and quality.

two shapes:
rectangular and oval

a unique member of this family
is a tabletop with an oak burl intarsia.

Perfectly even and repeatable surfaces are just one of the many faces of wood. In an attempt to showcase the full beauty of the material, we compose rare and unique veneers. Burl is a veneer made from a deformed tree growth which is excised in mass production. Such rare veneer requires an individual approach: it must be cut and laid down differently each time. When you sit at such a table, you can stare at the patterns and growth rings endlessly, as if it was a starry sky.

PROCESS

modern tradition

According to the art of the carpentry, one should combine burl veneers symetrical. Finding the right balance between traditional technique and modern look was our goal, and it took us a while to find the right combination.
